Lagos Seven checks decide the number beside a bookmaker here, and each of them reads the wording that bookmaker publishes about getting money out.

Withdrawal speed

This page collects what each graded operator publishes about the time between asking for your money and receiving it. All of it is quotation. None of it is a stopwatch reading, and the difference is worth holding on to while you read.

Four sentences, one act

MSport's support pages state that withdrawals are paid instantly, up to a limit of NGN 9,999,999 per transaction. SportyBet's FAQ says winnings will be immediately sent to your bank account after your confirmation. BetKing's help centre says all withdrawals are subject to audit before processing and asks you to allow up to 24 hours.

Bet9ja's general terms are the outlier: withdrawals are generally processed within 5 banking days, subject to a verification process. Between instant and five banking days there is no shared standard on this market, and no authority currently setting one.

Banking days are not days

A five banking day clause started on a Thursday before a public holiday can run well past a week on the calendar. Any window written in banking days should be read against the Nigerian bank calendar, not against your own.

The words around the number carry as much as the number. Generally, usually and up to are all conditional, and all four of the operators above use at least one of them.

The rails your money actually travels on

Payouts in Nigeria land through the interbank rails run by NIBSS, and deposits arrive through the familiar set of processors and wallets: Paystack, Flutterwave, OPay, Moniepoint, USSD strings and Verve cards. Each hop has its own cut-off times, which sit outside whatever the bookmaker has promised.

In the pages this desk opened, we did not find a published withdrawal method list for any of the six graded operators, so the index grades the wording of the promise rather than the routes behind it.

One transaction cap worth knowing

The single hard ceiling any of these books puts in writing is MSport's per-transaction limit. A win above it is not refused, but it is split, and a split payout is several trips through whatever checks the operator runs.

If you are planning around a large accumulator, the ceiling matters more than the promise of speed.
